About this election
Millions of Californians will vote in the June 3, 2008 State Primary Election to help narrow down the candidates for each state elected office to just one from each political party. The winning candidates from each party will run against each other in the November 4, 2008 General Election. Voters will be asked to vote on two statewide propositions in this election as well: Propositions 98 and 99. Some voters may also have local candidates or ballot measures on their ballots.
About Your Ballot
Your County Elections office will mail you a Sample Ballot before the election. Your Sample Ballot will include everything you can vote on. What will be on your ballot will depend on where you live (each elected office has its own election district) and your political party registration. Thus, your ballot may very likely be different than someone you know who lives in a different area because they live in a different election district or are registered with a different political party. About California’s THREE Elections in 2008
California will have a total of three statewide elections in 2008. The first was the Presidential Primary held on February 5, 2008. The second election is the upcoming June 3 State Primary (described above). The third election is the General Election, and it will be held on November 4, 2008. In that election, Californians will have the opportunity to help chose the next President, U.S. Representatives and State Legislators.
